Who here prints wide format?

my 24 inch canon (please resist the joke) will print a4 so dont see why a large format epson wouldnt

you can feed sheets of A4 through if you want, but it is faffy compared to using a big roll of paper - minimum amount it can roll through is 12.7 cm IIRC (by whatever width of roll you're using) We tend to layout a collection of mug prints, or iphone covers in one large document in PS and print them on one massive sheet, rather than individually.

How do you do your layouts in photoshop? I usually do them in illustrator. Six mugs fit nicely on to RA3.

create blank sheet in PS how big I am wanting to print, and copy paste the different files into it, and drag 'em around to fit.

Just to get the ball rolling, who is already up and running with wide format (42" I believe) on sublimation?

We went wide format for ink purposes but as of yet don't use the printer for wide prints. Looking to start using the width soon and develop this part of the business and see what items to introduce. A rotary press I am currently looking into as well to open up other opportunities.

I do large format as well but not using sublimation. I'd be happy to help you with any queries you might have if you're looking at getting in to large format

We dye sub print large format fabric up to 1.5m wide and do a lot of 3rd party work. Give me a shout if you want more info.

We've had large format printers for a while, mainly bought for the ink options, but also the better build quality/reliability, but our biggest presses were just over A2 size (55cm x 65cm) we have done some printing to those sizes, but not a huge amount.
Our HeatJet 43 was delivered last week (110cm rotary press) but it's not up and running yet, as we got another large format printer in, which is needing attention flushing out the crappy unbranded Chinese pigment inks the last owner had used (and clogged some of the nozzles with)
So, we're aiming for printing big scarves, along with cut and sew blouses, skirts, dresses, cushion covers etc for our own products/designs, but also for getting more orders in from other artist/designers.

We have large formats set up for sublimation printing, and for pigment ink printing. But in terms of the heat press, we use it for sublimation work only.

Thanks for replying. I would hate to think of the size of heat press you have for a wide format printer.
Is it one of those all over print set ups?

We have a HeatJet 43, which prints fabric on the roll up to about 1 metre 15cm wide, along with a couple of Adkins 55x65cm flat beds.
