Re: epson printer ink charging

Post by scottmurray89 »

hi there, i have purchased a brand new epson wf3010, and bought refillable cartridges and filled them with sublimation ink and installed them in the printer, and ive tried to print and its saying initial ink charging is not complete, on the instructions for the printer it says i need to install the cartridges that come with the printer to complete the ink charging, but i want to use the printer for sublimation so will installing the geniune inks not contaminate the printer? or is that the only option? thank you for any help

Did the refil carts come with instructions? Have you contacted your supplier of them to see what they say?

Your refil carts should have chips on them so the printer recognises them as genuine so you shouldn't need to put the other carts in first.

Scott, If you have a look at this link http://www.cityinkexpress.co.uk/cheap-p ... e-ink/cyan scroll down the page & click on the video guide that may help you. It looks like you have to short the chip to get them to work. Hope it helps.

I have a reset switch on my CIS cart assembly which does clear the lights but they kept coming on for me as well. City Ink sent me a new chip to put on the carts and touch wood this has cleared my problem.
