Cork backing?

I print Unisub coasters but stopped doing place-mats, pain in the backside when they warp. You can turn them over to re-heat which helps but for me at est they're not worth it. I heard Listawood has some different ones that don't warp but I'm yet to see them.

I'm going to have a go at cooking some Unisub mats in the oven at about 110C for a few minutes before using them to see if that gets the excess moisture out and reduces/prevents the warping.

A quick pre-press should get rid of any moisture....they'll still warp though

i pressed wooden clock lately and pre pressed it upside down so final press should straight it up a little. but thats only in theory

Did a batch of mats last night.

The single one that I cooked in the oven at 110C for a while before pressing came out fine.

The ones that I pre-pressed (180C/30secs) or just did out of the box ended up with a mottled finish to the solid coloured border that was around the image.

I'm going to have another go tonight and cook them in the oven again to see if that was a one-off or not.

Placemats have to be the worst blanks to press ever!
