Hi newbie here with a few questions ....
Re: Hi newbie here with a few questions ....
Hi
I am a total newbie to sublimation I already have a Cameo and heat press but think sublimation would definitely add to my repertoire and I have been reading and researching but have a few questions .....
What options are open to me regarding start up printers and ink for an a4 printer? I have to admit to buying a cheap package from ebay mainly because it's a hobby (personal use and some family and friends stuff) so I wanted something low cost but would do the job. Would this suffice? I've not unpacked it yet so if there's a reasonably priced alternative out there I would love to hear about it.
The Sawgrass inks are expensive - wow! Am I right in thinking you can only buy pre filled cartridges for desktop printers and not ink for refillable cartridges? If so can anyone estimate cost per a4 print using say Epson cartridges please?
As I have a Cameo I was hoping to use that software to design would that be ok?
And finally apart from mugs which I don't really want to do what would be the easiest things for a newbie to try!
Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Re: Hi newbie here with a few questions ....
Thanks Paul lol I have read that a few times and still confused! So I have the desktop printer, I have some "ink", I may or may not need the colour profile (?), it may or may not work? Whats the alternative. I have looked on BMS but the only printer I could in any way afford is the Epson B1100 and it's out of stock.
Re: Hi newbie here with a few questions ....
i dont know what to say
if you read that already then you should not be confused any more...
there are some supported printers and some not...
its all down to your expectations and budget i would say... and some knowledge

The Ricoh SG3110 is cheaper than the B1100 and in stock. This is by far the easiest route to sublimation printing.mummywebb;57730 wrote:Thanks Paul lol I have read that a few times and still confused! True, but even after taking into account discounts, other suppliers may work out cheaperCraig;57735 wrote:Welcome Mummywebb If you are looking for equipment then I would suggest speaking with Justin or clicking on the banner at the top of the forum and joining premium membership for just £10 and then have a little look at Listawood and speak with Becki as if you are a premium member on the forum then you get 10% everything at Listawood

Martin is there a way to approximate how long the supplied ink cartridges would last? Thanksbms;57736 wrote:True, but even after taking into account discounts, other suppliers may work out cheaper
