I take my pictures with a canon 40D (3888*2592). The pictures look great but lose alot of detail when i print off to a mug. I resized them in cs4 but it makes no difference to the prints. I was told by the supplier that there was no need to do any colour calibrating. If this is why my sea blue surfing photos were not sharp as my photos on the laptop screen i dont know. What should i do?

The colours on the screen rarely print out the same, you need to change your profiles or something, not sure though

Excuse me for being thick, but what is a profile?
Re: epson r265 losing detail in photos, ie landscape
You should have an ICC profile supplied with your inks so that the computer "talks" to the printer correctly and adjusts the colours. You need the profile for the colour management to work correctly. Your supplier of the inks should give this to you automatically.
