will be looking to do gym wear when opened......
preferably the "world gym" & "golds gym" logos on my clothing.....

obviously they must be copyrite logos.....
how do i get permision to use these logos on my gym clothing ??

or...do i actually need permission ??

i know golds gym is a registered logo but, is world gym the same ?....didnt think it was anywhere near as big a franchise as golds gym

i got guys down my local gym crying out for these if i can do em....

i see guys on ebay selling them as - "the unofficial " world gym clothing.......
and they are still trading....are they chancing there arm doing this ? ...or is that the loop hole saying the words "unofficial" when advertising ?

there is a saying "if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quack likes a duck" its a duck - replace duck with golds gym and know the answer to it yourself. never use ebay as a rule to go by, surely you can think of something unique to put on your gym wear ?? then when you see that copied on ebay...... you know its been a success.

the guys at the local gym are no doubt crying out for them as you are offering to do them for a lot less than they can buy official ones for, but one other thing, have a feel of the weight of the gold gym world gym stuff and make sure you match it for anything you do of your own design. look up the design, maybe google world gym logo copyright and take it from there

It just means they haven't been caught yet.

They're probably on eBay to be quick-buck merchants - sell what they can as quick as they can, and then get out before they're caught.

If you're selling to a local gym, you can't hide behind anonymity as an eBay seller could. If you intend your business to be around for the long haul, you'll be very careful of copyright infringement. You may not get caught today, or even tomorrow, but you will do eventually.

Copyright is an automatic right, and it's not based on how big the copyright holder is or how well known they are. Trademarks are applied for and the owner should protect it if they want to keep it.

Stay honest and you'll attract reputable clients because, if they see that you're the kind of person who'd infringe copyrights, then they're not going to feel that their designs are safe with you. But if they see that you'll protect other people's copyright and trademarks, then they will know that their logos/designs are safe with you. Which kind of business would you rather be?

thanks for replys ....
YES, i intend to be around for a long time.....
and YES, i am doing it by the book 110%...why i,m asking you guys for your opinion......

@mrsmaggot - i have googled worldgym copyright......yes, both logos ARE copyrite.....

i,m just wondering if i contact world gym, how much it would cost to OFFICAILLY sell there logo/brand over here in the uk.....
i Know of 2 smaller shops that sell them legally.....well, they say that on there shop ( not ebay )

time to email them and golds gym an email me thinks......

i aint spending this much time on a web site/cash outlay for stock/hardware just to get shut down the next mth for copy rite reasons.....thats just smacks of an amatuer wanting to make a couple of quid for his beer the next weekend lol..na, na....not me :-)
