Re: Building A WebSite

Post by LazyCarrot »

Looking to build my own website - have a basic understanding of XHTML & CSS and on the basis of fools rushing in etc i'm happy to give it a go

I've already built a website for my wife's 'natural wellbeing' products: www.labyrinthsoap.com - as you can see quite a basic layout but it works ok and its easy enough to maintain.
My own website will be to about the same kind of technical (in)competence but I've got one specific requirement that I havn't been able to figure out the solution to, nor indeed really come to grips with what, on a technical level, i need to achieve, which is: how do i provide a feature that allows the user to browse files on their computer, upload an image, and send it to me.
Presumably this will be part of a form, and involve sending a separate email, (which is an issue in itself), but i'm also concerned as to how to cope with very large files, do they need to be compressed etc. I'm guessing it will involve javascript (which i always find a major pain) but any hints, tips, pointers, or indeed alternative solutions would be most welcome.

Hi. Type "php form maker" in google. Simple to do. You.can set all values by youself and then jist copy and paste code anywhere to your website.
