I like it because you can be more specific than the spray. Pack of artists brushes from the pound shop and you're laughing :D Of course it can take longer to do larger areas with a brush than a spray.

Just tested some flock and it's left a mark but no backing, just the same as vinyl. I find it depends on the the colour of the garment and the vinyl used if it leaves marks anyway.

yep i never wash a garment - as technically its not new then is it ! i spray inside if its something quite robust, i have not done much flock but i do a fair amount of puff style stuff. i dont use the aerosol anymore (have you read the label) and use the liquid spray or as others have said with a small brush if a problem area - then press and you are ready to go again
