I've new to the world of the mug press, so please excuse me for asking basic questions

I want to start printing onto mugs, but I dont have any idea on what mug press to get, i've seen a few mug presses on ebay, but i dont know what i'm supposed to be looking for when buying a mug press

I want to

print full wrap prints onto 11oz mugs that look professionally produced

would you recommend getting a mug press that takes the mug in the upright postion or one that takes the mug on its side?

I now use the DF10 from BMS, it's a great press. Not sure if any in stock at the moment.

They've recently introduced the DF1 mug press which is excellent value and is a horizontal press.

Either press will do full wrap. I do 10oz mugs in my DF10 and to be honest I get on far better with it than my previous George Knight DK3 which cost way....way more!

Martin @ BMS is on the forums here so you can PM him if you need more info.

There are plenty on eBay as always but one thing you learn very quickly is the need for help and advice when starting out.

I am slight biased here after having an ebay mug press catch fire on me.
I have had presses from BMS and would also recommend them.

i've had a look at the BMS site and the DF1 mug press, they dont have a price on the page

http://www.printerowners.co.uk/heat-presses/528/df1-mug-press.htm

also the mug goes into the press side ways, instead of the normal more natural upright position, is there a reason for this on the DF1 press?

what do you think of these presses on ebay that i have seen, are these as good as the DF1 press?

Use the drop down menu at the bottom to select the press. I've just looked and it's there.
Some folk prefer this orientation, I use the DF10 which is upright and works very well for me.

Both eBay presses look cheap. not to say they won't do the job but if you're going cheap you should be able to get for less than that.

Never underestimate the value of support either. If the press goes wrong or you can't get it working properly, how quickly will the company respond? What is the warranty? Can they supply replacement heat blankets quickly at a fair price?

The details state that it has a superor heat blanket. I've had mine a good few months now. The heat blanket packed up within the first 3 months but BMS had a replacement FOC with me a couple of days later. I can't fault the service I've had so far.

Check the warranty, usually you get something like 3 months on a heat blanket and a year on the actual press.

Give Martin (BMS) a shout. Use the PM on here if you like, he's often around.
