Combo heat press temp sensor

Ive just aquired a Combo heat press and the previous owner had messed with the temperature sensor lead because the machine wasnt getting up to temp I believe. They have put a small resistor between the wires and although Ive not tried it yet im not sure how safe this is so I'm trying to find the proper replacement part. However Im struggling to find such part. Can anyone advise where I should be looking or even better what the actual part is I need ?
