ricoh 3110 & 7100 waste tank - are you feeling lucky punk?

evening all,

I have been dormant for quite a while but am now trying to get back into the swing of things and have hit a problem.

Do any of you good people know how to tell how full the waste tank is on a 7100 - ideally before it overflows inside the printer!

I remeber putting another tank into the 7100 - the old one was full. However, I pinched a used tank out of a dead printer and have no idea how much waste there is in it. I am guessing that there is no way of interogating the printer as to how much it has in it, so - anyone know the weight of a full tank?

I know I could just put a new waste tank in but how do I force the printer to reset and register that it is a new tank - just taking the tank out and putting in a new one doesn't reset the printer does it?

It was one of those things I meant to do 6 months ago but of course it never rose to the top of the 'must be done or else' list : o(
