Re: New Printer Setup for Sublimation

Post by daimilgi »

Hi, wondering if anyone has experienced similar.

for a number of years I’ve used an Epson workforce printer for sublimation printing without any issues but sadly that printer appears to have developed a fault beyond repair. I’ve now purchased a new Epson XP-3155 printer (discontinued model but new) which I need to setup as a sublimation printer. I have new empty ink cartridges at the ready for this purpose.

However, the setup process asks for the manufactUser setup ink cartridges to be installed initially. Has anyone else setup a similar new printer for sublimation and would anyone know whether you can setup using the empty compatible ink cartridges (filled with sublimation ink) instead of the start-up cartridges?

if this isn’t possible and I have to use the supplied start up cartridges to install the printer then where would this leave me with future sublimation printing ? Would I need to carry out any ink cleaning process to convert or would I be able to just install my sublimation ink cartridges and carry on printing ?

any help or guidance anyone could offer would be appreciated.

thank you

just fill up your refillable cartridges with sublimation ink and insert them to the printer. should work fine mate. Don't put genuine inks in as this will give you headache with cleaning system.
