Re: Sublideck 3D+ White Mark Issues

Post by skoda006 »

Hi,
Having issues with the iPhone 11 Pro Max 3D Tough phone cases, there are white marks on the bottom of the corners. The ink is just not sublimating and therefore leaving the case white, the paper seems to be crimping and not transferring through but this does not affect other models when doing darker colours with the paper crimping. We are using the Sublideck 3D+ machine and Silver film.
It only seems to be with darker colours, light colours sublimate great. Does anyone have any ideas? As to how this could be fixed? Thanks

Several reasons for this, what are your machine settings? Which film are you using?

Sometimes you'll find the larger cases don't print very well becvause there isn't enough room to wrap/melt over the edges and this is caused. Sometimes it can just be that there wasn't enough of the design outside the corner to sublimate.

That model size 'should' print ok if settings are correct.

Machine settings are Soften Temp 125, Part Temp 135, Film softening time 20 seconds and Transfer time 162 seconds. Also we use the A5 Flexi 3D HD silver film from Solejuice.

We don't find the silver film melts enough for corner covering personally. 162 is very low time as well, have you tried upping this? I would go up as far as 300 just for comparison.

Some designs you'll get away with a lower time but most of ours are at least 200 secs, some are 300+

You could also try increasing your soften temp 5 degrees.

Thanks for the help, have tried longer times. Increasing the temp and making the print bigger seems to make it better. Will keep playing around with it. Which film do you use?

Following as I keep looking at full wrap phone cases, then wander off again. It's the sublideck that keeps grabbing my eye!
What do "Sole Juice" recommend for film? Is this what you have tried?

We are contemplating selling our phone case side of the business before Christmas to focus on other sides of the business, if we do I will be in touch mate, we have a couple of these machines, all jigs and thousands of phone cases and lots of packs of the white foil that after Justin suggested to us back in the day, has proven the best.
