What solvent printable garment vinyl to use?
Re: What solvent printable garment vinyl to use?
Can any one recommend a solvent printable garment vinyl that is both easy to weed and easy to apply?
I have tried several, but none do the job well end to end.
The Magic Touch Printex Soldark is nice, and very easy to weed. Where it falls down is the application. Temperature is higher than some others and the (warm peel) film is very pliable when the tape is removed after pressing. This leads to a lot of misprints and very slow production speeds.
The Soldark 'SubliBlock' is a little easier to apply - not so soft and pliable when hot - and the application tape peels of well after pressing. It is slightly more 'brittle' and can rip when weeding detail, but is better than some. The 25% extra cost makes it a bad option for daily use.
The Politape Turbo print 4010 'Subli-stop' Is a pain to weed and prone to tearing. Very brittle film, not much good for small text. Applies very well, largely due to low temp and short time (130c @5secs). Badly over priced, even compared to TMT 'SubliBlock'.
The fourth one that I have tried is Ralawise RF025 DPM- Universal. Similar to Politape 4010, but much more affordable. Weeds reasonably well but still a problem with detail. Fast low temp and the application tape comes away well after pressing. If this weeded better it would be 'the one'.
Does anyone use other brands, such as Dae Ha or Siser? How do they weed and what are they like to apply?

The only one I use is Siser My 5 Print sold by Grafitype
It has excellent print qualities, as short as a 5 second press and as low as 125 degrees. Very fast drying time and if you use TTD easy application tape*** it can be peeled hot without any problem.
*** Double check that it is "Easy Application Tape" as there is also an "Evolution Application Tape" and I often forget which one is the right one

I had same issues with several brands. from cheap to more expensive. And I found one that tick all the boxes for me.
good price, weeding alright, application perfect.
SEF Graffitti from yolo.
I use thers application tape too. i found using different brand application tape make it more dificult to work with.
Give it a try.

I use a Mimaki CJV150 - 107. Great printer, but the cutter struggles with very small detail and text (as used for chest logos), which makes the weeding harder.Justin;148507 wrote:What printer are you using?

A couple of good options - thank you. I had never considered yolo, but the Siser was on my list to try (did you mean this one?) https://www.grafityp.co.uk/textile-tran ... rint-hi-5/
Do you use the 'vivid' or the 'matt' version?

That's the stuff and I tend to use VIVID, but it sort of depends on the garment and what effect etc. you are going for.

Re: What solvent printable garment vinyl to use?
Just pressed a couple of samples of Siser Hi 5 - very impressed.Weeds well, transfers to the application tape easily, and peels ok when hot.
Going to order a roll of vivid and a roll of tape, and use this as my go to vinyl when I get through the 40m of other stuff I have in stock.
Only down side is that it doesn't come in 1 metre width, but that isn't the end of the world.
Thanks for the heads up.
