Test print required - can someone help?
Re: Test print required - can someone help?
Hi there. I am considering purchasing a dye sub printer with the intention of printing onto flat-topped PBT plastic keycaps. I have a heat press already, but was wondering if there is a service online (or a kind soul on here) I could use to order a test print before investing in a printer. Thanks!
Re: Test print required - can someone help?
TBH that wouldn’t be much help as every printer is different. You may get a sample from an Epson model and you buy a Ricoh. You may use a cheap ink from EBay and the sample is from another ink supplier. The paper it is printed on is Trupix and you use paper from Xpres. The ICC profile you have will produce different colours to the one the sample is.
Where about are you in the UK as there are some suppliers with showrooms where you can see the printers in action and then take a sample home.

A fair point, thanks Iain. I was looking at an Epson kit from inkexperts.co.uk - I'll see if they can provide a sample.

Best is test print from Epson 6 color printer on Texprint HR paper using Inktec inks, as pretty much this is the standard for good quality prints. I can provide that color calibrated here, unfortunately i am in Spain, but if if you need its 1-1.5 e per A3+page , depends on ink coverage.
