How to use Sawgrass printer to print on 3D Sublimation Film
Re: How to use Sawgrass printer to print on 3D Sublimation Film
Hi There,
Did anyone had the experience to use sawgrass printer to print on the Korean 3D Sublimation film?
The semi-transparent film, not the silver film.
I had tried, but always too much ink on it, it could not work at all.
Did any one know how to adjust it?
Thank you very much.

Which printer are you using? We print this film on several printers with differing results. It can overload the film unless you dial the quality back on certain printers.

Hi Justin,
Sorry. I didn't mention it clearly.
We are using sawgrass SG400 and SG800.
The ink is always too much.
Too compare, please see the attached picture.
Upper one is printed by sawgrass printer SG400 and sawgrass ink.
The bottom is printed by EPSON Printer with Korea Sublinova ink.

Do you have a specific profile installed?

Hi Justin,
I used the same ICC profile that sawgrass offer in the setting.

You need a specific profile to use the film I'm afraid, what's happening is you're overloading it with ink. You could play about with settings in your software to help reduce this but without a profile you'll never get the right results.

I may be a bit late but I thought I would say anyway. I had the same issue with film and my sawgrass sg400. Turns out its the film thats the problem. A lot of companies sell film which does not work with sawgrass. however Sole Juice film is the only film that ive come across that produces perfect prints as the porosity of their film is very high! Re: How to use Sawgrass printer to print on 3D Sublimation Film
It's not usually the film but the profile, Sawgrass inks work perfectly well in some films with the correct profile.
The biggest issue with the film you're talking about is the curling, we had to change suppliers as it was so badly curled.

Hey Justin, just joined the forum and i believe i am having this same issue. I use a SG500 with Korean film and tried to use the sawgrass print mangers settings with very poor results. I attached images to show you what I'm working with. If the ICC profile is what i need how do i go about finding or installing the correct profile? Any help is appreciatedJustin;141120 wrote:You need a specific profile to use the film I'm afraid, what's happening is you're overloading it with ink.
