Re: Vinyl for Nylon

Post by AdamB »

I was thinking about 'decorating' a windbreaker jacket for me and some mates and noticed that there is specifically vinyl for Nylon garments.

I know that the windbreakers are made of nylon but surely the 'Nylex' is made for sports stuff such as vests and shirts made of nylon which are stretched and pulled - where as this jacket is made of nylon but will not stretch.

Anyone had experience with this?

Many thanks

We've printed lots of Result R01 nylon jackets with nyloflex for Lifeguards - no problems.

Thanks Martin ............... I guess what I'm what I'm trying to say is "can I get away with using standard vinyl - or do I need to shed out for nylon vinyl" ..... ?

Sorry, I was beating around the bush but thank you for the input my old matey.

i have on occasions used std vinyl for printing onto nylon - without issue (so far) make sure the garment is very well protected, as believe me it will burn - i printed some school drawstring bags and had a corner unprotected by my teflon sheet which moved when the press went down - lovely black crispy plastic all over the heat press - oooops

that's a little better than cutting about 20 designs and then sitting down to weed them and realising that you never 'flipped' the image ............... double doh!

That wasn't a good day!
