Just curious, are you all printing using Inktec inks or you use cheaper ones? Or different ones?

I use Inktec at the moment.

Most users will probably be using either Sawgrass or Inktec, we use both depending on the printer/applciation.

I was wondering about the more expensive SUBPRO EX HD – HIGH DENSITY dye sublimation ink and the cheaper options. How well they work.

More expensive than SG? I've used SG inks for years and in the past few years started using Inktec, there's not need to be using very expensive inks.

Depends on what you are printing, the volume and also what printer you are running...

Expensive doesn't necessarily mean good and cheap doesn't always mean bad...

The key thing is consistency from the ink and the supplier.
Sawgrass, Inktec and Sublisplash I think are probably the best around right now.

Personally I wouldn't get any of the cheaper stuff from sites like ebay. You could pick up a decent ink from them and then a week later they have stopped selling it. I don't want to rubbish ebay sellers but unless you can get guarantee's on the quality and consistency (you can't) then why bother for a few pennies.

Inktec since mid 2011, more than happy with the results and price, so no need to change really.
Was interested in the Sublispash thing when they came out, but the price wasn't appealing enough, and then I read a post (on here IIRC) saying they'd tweaked their ICC profiling to make the prints look better than competitors - personally I want accuracy in what we print, not something to come out brighter/poppier than expected.
We do our own ICC profiling rather than relying on the manufacturer, giving us the freedom to use whatever printer we want, and substrate we want, and know what we see on screen is what we get.

I agree, given the price of the sublimation ink in a print and the price i charge for the finished print, there is no point saving, even if tempting.

We supply both Inktec and our own brand 'Subli-Sharp' I must admit I still prefer Inktec even over my own brand ink. Our own brand is good, and ideal for people on a tight budget, we also use them to be competitive against cheap sellers on eBay.

But for me, I still think the Inktec inks are worth the little extra. All our printer packages are supplied with Inktec inks as standard and we get very very few issues where quality or ink delivery is concerned.

I think JTech have been duscussed over on TShirt forums, more of a USA based forum, where IIRC JTech is more common, along with Cobra.
