Re: Shelf life

Hi

I acquired a Ricoh in November last year which ended up having dodgy print heads (And PC issues, as a Mac user!) so outsourced again.

Now am getting round to getting it running again, but most likely purchasing a new 3110DN.

I ended up putting virtually a full set of ink in it, will this still be good to use up before i pop Sublisplash in it?

I'm ruling out the Epsons from Ink Express as i'm guessing they'll be less good with infrequent use? (Please correct me if wrong!)

Depends on the dates on the carts. New you should get 12-18 months on SG inks.

Epson printers using the Inktec inks (which we supply as part of all our packages) are pretty good, we recommend to use them once a week but I have left some of my own printers for 1 month and had no issues. Our budget inks (Subli-Sharp) are more viscous and do block up quicker, but the Inktec inks are excellent in their lack of drying up.

Obviously choice is yours, RICOH printers can be left for long periods without issues. But it is always the luck of the draw and I would recommend to use any sublimation printer regularly regardless of ink or printer manufacturer.
