Re: Faded blacks but not heat issues
Hi folks,
Suddenly blacks won't print. All other colours seem vibrant.
Have tried an old transfer and it printed fine so it's not the mug press or a heat issue.
Swapped the back cartridge - same problem.
Have checked and I'm printing on the right side of the paper.
Any other tips please? I can only think I've got a dud paper pack? I use Xpres.
Thanks for you help folks,
Tyce

It will take a lot of printing to pull the new black through, print several pages of A4 black on ordinary paper to draw it through.
Are you printing black as 100% K or is your black CYMK.
Whats a nozzle test print like.

Thanks for that. The result is exactly the same with the old cartridge and the new and the old cartridge had plenty of ink in it. Swapping the cartridge was just clutching at straws to fix it! There is plenty of ink on the transfer - this doesn't seem to be an issue and the nozzle test is fine. I'm flummoxed.
Re: Faded blacks but not heat issues
I presume it is sublimation ink in the black and not normal by accident.
What printer and brand of ink.

The cartridge is pretty new. They're not re-fillable so would they need priming? Thanks.
Re: Faded blacks but not heat issues
Have you done a nozzle check to see the black is actually flowing?

Hello fellow Brillianteer! And thank you! Yes I have and it's flowing well. The actual transfers themselves are very good with strong colour. Am mystified!

Have you checked all of your settings through with the Sawgrass website? Have SG/Xpresdialled in and checked for you? I'm assuming you're still under warranty. What have Xpres said?
