Im running X4 which came with my Wilcom program. Every time I open Wilcom (and X4), I get a message asking if I want to upgrade to Corel SE. I dont, but maybe this program could be a cheaper way to get into the Corel suits as many on here dont need the complete Corel package.

Very interesting. I assume SE is 'Special Edition'. I spoke to Corel at length as this was offered cheaply on eBay and they categorically told me they had never released a version under the name SE or Special Edition!

Does this include cutter compatibility though?

Very odd to deny having the SE version when its being offered on their website.
As for a cutter compatability, I wouldnt know. I run my Roland GX24 via the Roland plug In on my X4. Maybe if you asked via the Corel forum you could find out?
Im not buying this version. Why? X4 works perfectly for what I want.

My main issue with X8 is that the top line dissapears, it is still there but hidden, ie File, font, etc, apparently it is a known issue with windows10 and there is a walk around, but you need to do it everytime, im just use to hovering until i see what i need.

Did you mean X6?

Yes, the disappearance of the menu line is damned annoying but for me, more annoying is the fact that Corel don't fix it. Yes there are 'unofficial' fixes out there BUT, they're just temporary work-a-rounds. My cynical belief is that Corel won't fix the issue as they want us to upgrade to X8.

There are other problems that I won't go into in any depth here, but I'm not amused :(

Very strange. I have X7 on my laptop and the top line does not disappear. Win10 to.

Not sure if I'm reading this right about the missing menu bar but if you point cursor to top of page where the menu bar should be, right click and, in drop down box check 'menu bar 'and it should appear.

The disappearing menu bar is a well known issue with X6 and Windows10. There are numerous posts on the Coreldraw forum about it and several suggestions from users about how to 'fix' it - none are permanent unless you choose to use Windows 10 in black & white or high contrast - there is no solution from Corel themselves. Being cynical, I don't think they have any plans for a fix as they'd prefer to take more of your money to upgrade.

Upgrading is not an option for those who purchase a package such as Wilcom Embroidery Studio which bundles Corel X6 as a closely intergrated package. Upgrade to X8 and the integration is lost. Surprisingly (sic) Wilcom are unaware of this issue but did suggest I upgrade my Wilcom software!!!

Yeah rite :(

Are you saying John that if I upgraded to the latest version of Wilcom, Corel is not integrated with Wilcom?
