Re: Hello from me.
My name is Paul and I live in London. I have a show and a book called Guerilla Aspies, and I have been requested for merchandise to go with both. (I am playing the Edinburgh Fringe next week).
A story you have all heard before I would guess? I bough the Ricoh printer and the heat plate press (not too cheap or expensive) and proceeded to use the time and temperature settings I came across online. A career in merchandise clearly awaited me.
So far I have produced wonderful yellow only prints on my polyester test t shirt, and a pair of bright yellow only prints onto my test mug. Both print outs where rich in different colours of course.
What am I doing wrong please?
Thank you all.

Hi Paul,
Nice to meet you.
My only advice at this stage is to go for GENUINE inks if you only starting out. I know its tempting to go for cheaper inks but at the end of the day you need to remember... Buy cheap, buy twice.

Re: Hello from me.
Thanks everyone.
I tried to post a few days ago but it didnt register. Basically I used the cartridges supplied assuming that since I had bought a printer sold as a sublimation gel unit, they would be too. Nooo! So now I have refillable cartridges on the way. Wrong ink! Thanks.

Re: Hello from me.
Refillable inks? What model is the printer? If it is a 3110 you really need sawgrass inks and the powerdriver profile. There are many threads on here about starting up. The best advice I can give is go to a reputable supplier who gives full support and customer service. I am not saying your supplier does not do this but if they didn't put big red letters saying don't put the Ricoh inks into the machine then I would not think so. These need flushing out and even then of it is not a 3110 there may be trouble ahead.

Re: Hello from me.
Flush with distillled water _ NOT TAP WATER. you can get this from halfords if you have one close by . then put new inks in and flush again theres plenty of online youtube clips on how this is done.Attempted Printer Paul;114083 wrote:Thanks everyone.

Re: Hello from me.
Thank you.
They came out yellow again on the test t shirt and the mug? So its an issue with flushing the wrong inks? Its turning into an epic battle! I assume the time and temp's are right anyhow. I use blank ceramic mugs and a polymer test t shirt.
Really appreciate everyones support here. Thank you.
