Re: Ricoh OEM Gel ink for heat transfer?
Thanks to social giraffe then I have a stack full of cotton bags and samples of inkjet heat transfer paper from Yolo. Using our super Canon ip8750 then prints come out perfect but VERY expensive ink (about 65p per A4). I did a test using standard gel inks that come with Ricoh SG3110dn and although yellow tinted (too long pressing or will calibrate) it still worked and printing would be pennies. Therefore does anyone else using Ricoh and gel inks for heat transfers or is chromablast really worth it?
SG recommended Oki laser printer but ideally do not want to purchase new hardware again.
Ps Our only intention is to transfer A4 full colour prints to cotton tote bags.
Thank you. Olly

I can answer this myself now having talked with Yolo. The answer is YES. They have also looked into this and Gel Inks perform the same as Dye Inks. All the talk about "Pigment Inks" as well is hyped up and not needed. Although quality not as good as the Canon the sample we printed with Gel Inks was good enough for retail selling. Good news.

Yes using Jet Pro SS heat transfer paper from Yolo (10% off for Premium Members!). Just about to press a couple of bags so perhaps I will upload a photo later.

I tried and failed with yolo papers, Im using an Epson 1500w with cheap dye ink ciss but it just washes out straight away, good luck!

I think because we are only doing tote bags which people I don't think ever wash and also Yolo confirming it would be ok then we aim to sell and run away quickly!
