Re: A3 printers for sublimation

Hi. I am new to sublimation but I have been using an Epsom with a continuous ink system which has been perfect but I now need to step up to an A3 and I am struggling to find one. What does everyone else use and has anyone any suggestions for one I can buy in the UK

Yes I've seen these advertised. Are they ready made up cartridges with sublimation ink in them as opposed to the CISS

I have just gone and read up about the Ricoh GX7000 and it's been discontinued due to a major fault.

not seen that.... there are K's of old ones out there working fine many years on, the newer models are equally as good but carry a high start up cost and as for the carts they are huge and last ages.

Hi

The Ricoh SG7100dn is the current model and superseded the Ricoh GX7000 and the Ricoh GXe7700n. Hope this helps.

Kind regards

I just purchased the new SawGrass Virtuoso 800....A3.... I have only had it since last week and due to family emergency have not had time to play much. But my first impression is good. They are still made by Ricoh but come with the Sublitmation ink from the start. Everything about them looks the same as the previous Ricoh model except for the facia colour, plus minus the duplex. They are quite expensive though with the forums premier membership discount for Listawoods, made the price a little sweeter.

I use both epson 1400 and 1500w for my A3 work complete with CISS and have had no problems.

James... do you run ciss sub ink system on the 1500w? Where can I get the system and bulk ink from?

Almost bought myself a vituoso 800 yesterday because the info regarding Sublimation and ciss for the 1500w is hard to come by.

I've seen countless videos installing ciss on the 1500 and I now run one for my Heat Transfers and its great but theres little info I can find on doing it with sublimation or its reliability...

thanks
