Mug Press Advice Needed

I am currently looking at investing in suitable equipment for sublimation and would appreciate some advice from the forum members.

I currently use a Summa D60 for other signwork we do, so no worries as far as a cutter is concermed. Had it a few years now and it never misses a beat.

The next items on my list will be an Adkins Beta Maxi and a Ricoh printer, A3 if I can get a good deal as a bundle purchase. I had considered a clam press but many comments on here advise the extra investment in a swing-away is worthwhile.

When it comes to purchasing a mug press I am having a difficult time deciding if I should go for the Adkins Studio Multi Mug press or are the quality results from something like the Genie Press Plus just as good ?

Some feedback on suppliers and their after-sales service would also be appreciated.

Genie gets good reviews but personally I would favor the Adkins over anything else I've used before. I run a couple of these and find them excellent. If you are looking at the Genie you can get 10% off this as a Premium Member (£10 per year) along with anything else from Listawood.

Another vote for Adkins. This morning I started using a sub £100 press that I ordered yesterday as our Adkins needs a new controller unit. To be fair the cheaper press gets the job done just fine (after experimenting with times and temps). The quality of output is good, but there is a marked difference in the driving experience as you would expect with such a price difference.

When was looking for a press I seem remember the Genie and BMS presses being well thought of in the mid-price range, but don't have any first hand experience with them.

The press I'm currently using is from Coralgraph, I have no complaints, but 10 mugs in I can't really comment on it's longevity.

All that said. I'm a newb so what do I know!

I use the pixmax mug press from monster doodles. Had it near enough two years and going well. Although just had to order a new attachment but it does get hammered

I begin this by saying I have a habit of replying without answering...this is no different.
Mug press wise I run 2 adkins and 2 BMS presses. The adkins is more robust....but the BMS presses haven't missed a beat in 3 years either. I have replaced the heat blanket on both adkins, but not on the BMS press.

Pick the bones out of that!

Have to say that I am so far very impressed with the response to my initial request for information and samples from Listawood.

I spoke to Dawn yesterday and the samples arrived promptly today. A very big thankyou for such service.

Can any forum member on here that uses Listawoods Genie heat press confirm that the two samples shown below are a true representation of what results can be expected from the Genie. The samples supplied were the SatinSub Durham photomug and the Small Latte Photomug.

I havea Geñie and i have printed standard Durhams and the small latte although not top to bottom latte, Genie is quite capable of printing as your Durham sample and would expect the latte to be the same. Biggest problem will be the latte distortion..

I have the Genie from Listawood, but am relatively new to just several weeks. I have been happy with what we have made, but I have not yet tried a full top to bottom like on the Durham mug. It is very easy use and oddly enough I have not to had to change the settings it came with.
