I had an old windows 7 laptop which went very slow,i did the free upgrade windows 10 offer & that runs so much better, so maybe try windows 10?

I get those marks now & again,usually with the slate from cgraph, if it's left a residue i get rid of them with a dishwashing sponge pad & soapy water.
