Re: Sublimation onto Clear Acrylic
<t>They look very good, I bet you're happy with those. I only have 4.5mm & 10mm clear acrylic as I can get large off cuts for free! I will be supplying her with an image this week I hope so I'll add a colour chart to that, it will be interesting to see what comes back. She uses 'Texprint ...

Re: Sublimation onto Clear Acrylic
<r>I don't have a sub printer etc at the moment, I purchased a couple of A4 sheets for testing purposes from somebody that does sublimation on a regular basis (not acrylic though). I did another test piece since my last post at 170C for 400 seconds and for arguments sake it's identical. I chose the ...

Re: Sublimation onto Clear Acrylic
<t>I have carried out some more testing and have found that 185C for 220 seconds appears to be the best at this stage however I'm not certain so attached is an image of the original sublimation and the sublimated image onto the back of a piece of 10mm clear acrylic. Is the faded image what I should ...

Re: Sublimation onto Clear Acrylic
<t>Thanks for the link. I have read all of it and found it very interesting especially the temps & times, hopefully I'll have time to try more testing today. I have very little control over the sublimated images & paper because I don't have my printer set up yet so I pay to have the A4 pages printed ...

Re: Sublimation onto Clear Acrylic
Thank you webtrekker, that's what I thought. I have grit blasted some text onto acrylic that I can barely feel running my finger across it and it lights up well however it has broken the surface as you say whereas sublimation is only on the surface; oh well!

Re: Sublimation onto Clear Acrylic
<r>Hi, this is my first post so please be gentle with me & I don't have any equipment at this stage; still researching. <COLOR color="#454545"><s>[COLOR=#454545]</s>[FONT="]As you are probably aware, if you etch/sand blast a pattern into the back of a sheet of clear acrylic and in a dimly lit ...

Re: Hi from Down Under
I haven't done any sublimation at this stage but have read quite a bit. I would like to get things right before I rush out and purchase the wrong equipment. I'll try not to be a pest & will help if/when able. Cheers.
